Sweet and Sour Chicken
  • Ingredients (4 servings)

    • 2 cups oil
    • ½ lb chicken breast or thigh meat (cubed) *
    • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
    • 1/4 cup carrots (sliced on bias) 
    • 1/4 cup onions (wedged) 
    • 1/4 cup green bell pepper (diced) 
    • ¼ cup your favorite crispy batter
    • 4 tbsp Asian Menu™ Sweet & Sour Sauce 

    * Pre-battered/breaded chicken chunks can also be used. You can also substitute the chicken with beef, pork, shrimp, scallops or vegetables.

  • Instructions (25 minutes)

    1. Cut chicken into 1 inch cubes.
    2. Remove excess water from chicken.
    3. Coat chicken with batter.
    4. Peel and slice carrots.
    5. Cut onions into wedges.
    6. Cut green bell peppers into 1 inch dice.
    7. Blanch, onions and green bell peppers into boiling water for 10 seconds.
    8. Heat oil in fryer over high heat until hot (approx. 350°F)
    9. Deep fry chicken until fully cooked and golden brown. Then remove from oil and set aside.
    10. Heat Asian Menu™ Sweet and Sour Sauce in skillet or wok until bubbly hot.
    11. Add vegetables, chicken and pineapple. Toss until sauce fully coats food.
